Custom LED Shelf and Accent Lighting Installation in Wenatchee

This living room had beautiful built-in shelving on both sides of the fireplace - great bones, solid craftsmanship. But without the right lighting, none of it was doing what it could. The art glass collection sitting on those shelves deserved better than ambient overhead light that barely grazed the shelves.

Here's what we worked with: two large built-in units flanking a center fireplace wall. We ran warm LED strips behind each shelf and along the base of both built-ins. The strips behind the shelves cast light forward and downward, putting the focus directly on whatever is displayed there. The base strips add a subtle glow along the floor that ties the whole wall together without feeling overdone.

The warm color temperature was a deliberate choice. Art glass - especially pieces with rich color and depth - reads completely differently under warm light versus cool. Warm LEDs pull out the amber, red, and gold tones in the glass. Cool LEDs flatten them. Getting that detail right is the difference between a shelf that looks like a display and one that looks like storage.

What makes a job like this clean is the concealment. The strips themselves aren't the focal point - the collection is. That's how accent lighting is supposed to work. When it's done right, you notice the objects, not the hardware.

This is the kind of residential lighting upgrade that doesn't require a full renovation to pull off. If you've got built-ins, cabinetry, or any display space that isn't being shown the way it deserves, LED accent lighting is one of the highest-impact changes you can make to a room.
